Lahore - Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Saturday named Bismah Maroof as Women’s Twenty20 International side captain while retained Sana Mir as One-Day International (ODI) side captain for the upcoming tour of England.
Javeria Khan, who injured herself in the ICC Women’s World T20, was named as the vice-captain of the T20I side while Maroof will be Mir’s deputy in the ODIs. From the squad that played ODIs against West Indies in October 2015, Pakistan selectors have made a total of six changes including a call-up to the 24-year-old uncapped Aiman Anwer. Nahida Khan, Sidra Nawaz, Nain Abidi, Muneeba Ali, Sadia Yousuf and Maroof – all of whom played in the Women’s World T20, were included in the squad.
The women’s national selection committee consisting of Farrukh Zaman, Urooj Mumtaz Khan and Syed Ali Naqvi have also picked Rabiya Shah, Maham Tariq and Ayesha Zafar as the standby players. Pakistan women’s tour of England comprises of three ODIs which will also be a part of the Women’s Championship and the three games have been allotted a reserve day each. The ODIs will be played on 20th, 22nd and 27th June in Leicester, Worcester and Taunton respectively, while the T20Is will be held on 3rd, 5th and 7th July in Bristol, Southampton and Chelmsford respectively.
