Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has vowed that environmental issues will be placed on priority list of party's manifesto for the upcoming general elections. 

He gave his message  on World Environment Day that protecting the planet was the long-term responsibility of the global community.

Bilawal remarked that his party give due importance to safeguard Pakistan’s natural resources for sustainable use of our future generations. 

Furthermore, PPP Chairman said that his party would take practical steps to protect the environment while carrying out economic and industrial projects because sustainable development is the need of the hour.

He added that before moving towards afforestation, urgent steps were needed to check deforestation.

Talking about Sindh, he stated that 1.1 million mangroves were planted within 24 hours on an island near Keti Bunder in Thatta almost two months ago.
