While issuing his statement on Saturday over inflation in the country, JUI Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman said that every walk of life including judges, army generals must give sacrifice due to rising inflation in the country.
Maulana Fazlur Rehman said that members of National Assembly and Senate would also have to make sacrifices in prevailing situation of country.
Federal ministers, provincial ministers, special assistant to prime minister (SAPM) advisor to prime minister and top bureaucrats above grade 19 should reduce their perks, he said.
He added that the government was aware of the general public’s plight. It has to make tough decisions to save the country from bankruptcy, he maintained. He said that government representatives should have to sacrifice for the betterment of masses.
However, the ruling coalition government has started ‘sasta petrol, sasta diesel’ scheme for 14 million households to provide relief.
The incumbent government has set up Rs2,000 monthly stipend for the people having below Rs40,000 monthly income.
