LAHORE -Muhammad Yaqub Sheikh of PML-Q Forward Bloc, who is Member Punjab Assembly from PP-77 (Jhang V), called on Governor Punjab Salman Taseer. During the meeting, he lauded the efforts of Governor Salman Taseer for upholding the democratic values and defusing present confrontation in the Punjab and assured his complete support to the federal government in this regard. According to an official handout issued here on Wednesday, MPA Muhammad Yaqub Shaikh said we do not want confrontation and it is our desire that the present parliament should complete its constitutional tenure, but unfortunately, N-League has adopted confrontational politics. He said it is imperative to join hands with the federal government for the progress of the country and to solve the problems being faced by Pakistan. He said that they did not believe in any 'long march'. The crisis of judiciary had been resolved and all those judges except the two judges who were removed by the former President Pervez Musharraf had resumed their offices. He said the two judges were unwilling to take oath under the constitution of Pakistan therefore there was no justification of lawyers' long march for such purpose. He said it is not the time of agitation. Those who are creating chaos and anarchy in Pakistan for their political interests should remember that the country could not afford destruction in the present juncture. He said motivating people for civil disobedience and damaging the public property is a negation of democratic values. He said we want restoration of Punjab Assembly and support such coalition government in the province in which all parties should ensure the upholding of democratic rights by respecting the mandate of each other. He said that the efforts which were made during the last year for establishing monopoly of one-party in the province should be discouraged, as it was the need of the hour to start the era of reconciliation so that the new government could work for the welfare of the people and redress their problems with full concentration.
