Wateen lead the day in National Polo

LAHORE - Wateen, HSBC Bank and Ghazipur stride ahead in the National Championship for the Quaid-e-Azam Gold Cup here Wednesday with an impressive wins. But the former (Wateen) with its win leaped further to take the top place on points table with plus seven average overthrowing Bank Alfalah, which was lead the pack. Wateen grabbed seven to five win over Tip Moor Al Khan-Rangers, Gaston Moore was the star of the win with five goals. HSBC Bank prevailed over Vogue Furnature-Diamond Paints in a one-sided game 11-5. Jose Rivas and Hissam Ali Hyder was the heroes of the win while Jaun Garcia Grossi score from the losing end. Ghazipur brought Bank Alfalah down from the top with 9-7 triumph. The fighting four of Ghazipur in Shah Qublai Alam, Shah Shamyl Alam, Shaukat Ali Malik and Atif Tiwana displayed a team effort to get win. Alejandro Astrada did his best to earn limelight for the bankers. Earlier on Tuesday, Vogue Furniture/DP beat Bank Alfalah Royal Banking 14-6, Wateen defeated HSBC Bank 9-7 and Hilton Pharma edged ahead Tip Moor Al Khan 10-9.
