Women can play a vital role to control use of hard and soft narcotics in the society. Narcotics supply and demand are growing rapidly. Sheesha Cafés are just like “Drug Consumption Rooms.”  This was stated by Anti-Narcotics Campaign consultant Syed Zulfiqar Hussain. He was talking on ‘Drugs Abuse and Women’ here at Government College for Women, Bagbanpura in collaboration with Youth Council for Anti Narcotics.

College Principal Dr Firdous Sharif presided over the programme. Punjab AIDS Control Programme Deputy Director Dr Tayyba, Javed Iqbal and college teachers Iram and Sairah also spoke on the occasion.

Syed Zulfiqar said Sheesha Cafes were new threat to our youth which provided all ‘facilities’ where, any body could used soft drugs in very comfortable and friendly atmosphere. Sheesha Cafés are increasing the trend of drug use in young generation, he added. He said we always blamed to the government but we didn’t fulfil our responsibilities. “Parents have no time to spend with children and share some problems as friend,” he said.

Dr Firdous Sharif said the curse of drug was increasing day by day in our society. She said millions people including females were using narcotics in Pakistan.
