KARACHI  - District and Session Judge Malir Muhammad Yameen, accompanied by Judicial Magistrates Naveed Asghar Sheikh, Muhammad Ali Memon, Abdul Shakoor Kalhoro, Nadir Khan Burdi and General Secretary Saiban NGO Haider Ali Haider visited District Jail Malir.

Superintendent Syed Nazir Hussain Shah Deputy Superintendents Gul Muhammad Sheikh, Agha Zulfiqar, Dr Shakeel Arbab Assistant Superintendents Arshad Shah, Asif Sarfraz, Kamal Bukhari, and other jail officials were present on the occasion. The judges went round various barracks, met the prisoners and enquired about the details of ongoing cases in various courts. DJ met the prisoners in barracks and listened to their problems and assured them of speedy justice.

On the occasion, a large number of prisoners presented applications for an early hearing of their cases while many submitted applications for review of the court decisions. During his visit to various barracks, 10 prisoners pleaded guilty of committing crimes. The Judge ordered to release them, a Saiban release said Monday. According to Saiban, 3 prisoners informed the judge that they had completed their sentence but are in jail because of inability to pay the fine amount. The Chairman Saiban Haq Nawaz Akhtar paid the amount of the fines, travelling expenses and got the 13 prisoners released.
