LAHORE –The dream of establishing the Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital and Research Centre (SKMCH) at Peshawar is ready to come true as the foundation stone is expected to be laid the next week.

According to a press release, the friends of Shaukat Khanum, including from the fashion industry, has stepped up their contribution to the cause. In this connection, an event will be held at the SKMCH hospital in Lahore on March 10 from 11am to 4pm.

The festival promises a day to be full of fun and fashion and will include the Pakistan Fashion Design Council (PFDC) Lounge with clothes donated from over 60 leading designers and retail brands including HSY, Sublime by Sara, Karma, Maria B,Kamiar Rokni, Asifa and Nabeel, Khaddi and other famous designers of Pakistan, a festive play area for the children and a food court.

A number of celebrities are also expected to make their appearances and express their solidarity with the cancer patients from KP. It is mentioned that all proceeds generated from this event will be donated as a part of the PFDC’s contribution in the construction of Pakistan’s second Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital and Research Centre Peshawar.
