ISLAMABAD - The Monday’s session of the National Assembly adjourned after offering Fateha for senior legislator Mehar-un-Nisa Afridi, former MNA Ghulam Arabi Kharal and victims of Sunday’s blasts in Karachi.

The House convened to take up one dozen agenda items remained in session for not more than five minutes as per the tradition (when a sitting member dies) put off all proceedings.

Taking the floor soon after the start of proceeding, PPP chief whip, Minister for Religious Affairs Khursheed Shah requested the chair to offer Fateh for departed soul.  MNA Haji Rozuddin led the fateha for the deceased. Presiding Officer Chaudhry Abdul Ghafoor, who was in the chair without taking any agenda item announced to adjourn the House.

MQM’s MNA Iqbal Muhammad Ali Khan, on point of order, said that this blast was complete failure of incumbent government as killings in Karachi’s Abbas Town was not the first incident in the town.

“Why Rangers and local police could not reach at the blast’s site in time. Inquiry should be made on this negligence immediately. It is complete failure of a government,” he added.
