ISLAMABAD - The Supreme Court of Pakistan on Monday directed District and Sessions Judge Islamabad (East) to conclude within one month the trial in rape and murder of a ten-year-old girl whose charred body was found in I-9 sector on February 19.Expressing satisfaction over the investigations in the case of killing of Shahzadi 10-year-old under the supervision of Inspector General of Islamabad Police Binyamin the apex court disposed of the suo moto, taken after the charred body of the girl was found from a dried gutter.The IGP told a three-member bench comprising Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, Justice Gulzar Ahmed and Justice Sheikh Azmat Saeed about the history of criminal acts of the main accused.The chief of Islamabad police said four other cases of rape and attempted rape were revealed by the accused Abrar and his girl friend Zahra Mehk as a police officer’s daughter also lost her life because of the couple.The accused, an MBA degree holder from NUML along with his girl friend also student of the same university, had kidnapped, raped Shahzadi, resident of Bhara Kahu, and burnt her to death and threw away her body.The IG informed the bench that the accused was arrested on February 22 after his link with Mehk was established through tracking of the cell phone of the girl who used to provide tuition to Shahzadi. The arrested man confessed to have strangulated after committing rape with the daughter of SP Hakim, whose family refused to get the case registered. Further confessions included raping Muqadas, a 15-year-old, Christian girl who also used to get tuition from Mehk at Bahara Kahu and attempting to rape Sabira 20 another student of Mehk.The IG said investigations had been completed as Mehk herself had confessed to aided Abrar in trapping the girls coming to her house for tuition.Binyamin said the father and the brother of the girl had been found innocent in the crimes as they knew nothing about the activity of Mehk as both were government employees.It was on February 18 that CJP took suo moto notice of the killing of the teenager and directed the IG to supervise the investigations and submit comprehensive report.
