ISLAMABAD-Taliban’s Chief negotiator, Maulana Samiul Haq , is likely to convey a message of Imam-e-Kaba Sheikh Saleh bin Hameed , to the hardliner militant. He has urged them to adopt the path of dialogue rather than armed struggle in pursuit of their demands in Pakistan.

Chief of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-S) Maulana Samiul Haq , went to Saudi Arabia to perform Umrah last week where he met with the Imam-e-Kaba.

According to reports, the religious party leader requested Sheikh Saleh bin Hameed to play his role in convincing the Taliban who have been engaged by the government in a negotiation process aimed at restoration of peace in Pakistan.

Maulana Samiul Haq said that Imam-e-Kaba had urged Taliban to quit armed struggle and resolve all issues through dialogues. He said shedding the blood of Muslims in an Islamic state is wrong and unislamic.

When he meets with Taliban shura, Maulana Samiul Haq is likely to convey this message to the militants.

There are reports that the government may also invite Imam-e-Kaba to Pakistan, if the need arises.

Negotiating teams of government and Taliban were scheduled to meet in KPK’s Akora Khatak area today to discuss progress in the peace process.
