LAHORE: The Punjab Home Department has nominated DIG Abdul Razzaq Cheema, presently serving as CCPO Quetta, as Convener of the Joint Investigations Team probing into the Model Town tragedy.
The JIT has been investigating a case registered with Faisal Town police (under section 427/506/149/395/ 109/148/302/324/365/452/295-B of PPC, 7-ATA, and 155-C of the Police Order) against Prime Minister, Punjab Chief Minister, federal ministers and 19 others. The eyewitnesses of the Model Town incident particularly media persons are asked to appear before the JIT along with pictures/footages at Police Club on March 7, Saturday at 11:00am.–Staff Reporter
