The National Assembly Standing Committee on Finance and Revenue on Wednesday showed grave concerns over the Credit Bureau Bill 2015, as the committee members proposed to make amendment in bill before approval.

The Committee, which met under the chair of Omar Ayub Khan, discussed the Credit Bureau Bill 2015. Deputy Governor State Bank of Pakistan and Secretary Finance briefed the committee on the proposed bill. Deputy Governor SBP informed that currently four companies are registered under the Credit Bureau Act, however only one company namely Data Check is operating. He added that by the approval of said Bill, SBP will be able to regulate Credit Bureau companies in the country. The committee members expressed their reservations on the bill. The committee decided that next meeting of the committee would be convened today (Thursday) to reconsider the bill.
