HAFIZABAD

A six-year-old child died due to transfusion of expired blood in the DHQ Hospital Hafizabad. Father of the deceased has demanded strict action against Laboratory Attendant Muhammad Farooq Irfan over negligence.

Meanwhile, the medical superintendent has suspended the accused and ordered an inquiry against him. As per Muhammad Asghar of Village Khanna Bhattian, his six-year-old son Huzafa Asghar was suffering from blood cancer and he has taken him to the DHQ Hospital due to severe deficiency of blood. He further said that he had purchased one pint of blood from the lab at Rs1,500 but the blood proved to be fatal.

TWO HELD: Police raided the shop of a trader on Jalalpur Bhattian Road and arrested two alleged liquor seller red-handed and have recovered 102 litres liquor, 2 cell phones and sale proceeds worth Rs18,090. On a tip off, the police had raided the shop and arrested Allah Dad and Tanveer red-handed while selling the liquor. A case has been registered against them.

MEDICAL CAMP: A charity foundation organized a medical camp in Sultanpur where it provided free medicines for hundreds of patients in flood affected villages Kot Buksh, Nakki Chatha, Amrao Khurd, Allauddinke, Hardo Bagh, Kot Mian Khan, Thatha Panah, Bhirri Chatha, Kot Daim. Doctors including Muhammad Usman Cheema, Muhammad Ali, Habib Ullah Cheema and Dental Surgeon, Noman Akram Sheikh provided free medical advices.

Amanullah, president of District Kissan Board Hafizabad, thanked the physicians and surgeons for visiting the far-flung area to provide medical aid.
