ISLAMABAD: The National Centre for Physics (NCP) and the Abdus Salam International Centre for Theoretical Physics (ICTP), Trieste, Italy are jointly organizing the International Scientific Spring (ISS) from March 7 to March 11.

NCP Director-General Dr Hafeez Hoorani said that after the discovery of God particle (Higgs Boson) at CERN, this year the event is more important because Switzerland CMS detector of CERN spokesperson Dr Tiziano Camporesi will discuss future prospects for scientific progression with this gathering.

He said that the China Institute of High Energy Physics (IHEP) Director Prof. Yifang Wang’s visit to Pakistan will open a new window for Pakistani scientists and researchers to work in large future scientific projects of this region.

Dr Hoorani said that the ISS-2016 event aims to provide a platform for the local and the foreign participants to exchange scientific knowledge and to generate enthusiasm for science and discovery.

The plenary lectures will be delivered on atomic, molecular and optical physics, condensed matter and nano sciences, particle physics & cosmology and plasma physics in ISS-2016 event.

Over three hundred young Pakistani M.Phil, Ph.D students, researchers, university faculty and more than 20 foreign invited speakers and participants will take part in the deliberations of ISS.
