Islamabad - The Centaurus Mall has been declared as tobacco-smoke free under smoke-free policy for public places in Islamabad.

The Capital Administration & Development Division (CA&DD) in coordination with administration of Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) is implementing ‘Strengthening Tobacco Smoke-free Islamabad initiative.’ The CA&DD has developed tobacco-smoke free policy for public places. Under this policy 112 public places have declared as Tobacco-Smoke Free Facility including 8 police stations, 10 public parks,12 major hotels & restaurants, Higher Education Commission, educational institutions and shopping malls.

Through this activity 1500 authorized officers trained regarding tobacco control laws which will play vital role to make Islamabad Tobacco-Smoke Free City.

Yesterday, The Centaurus management arranged an orientation and training briefing with Capital Administration & Development Division (CA&DD) on making Islamabad a tobacco-smoke free city. A model city for implementation of tobacco control laws through “Tobacco-Smoke Free Islamabad” project and further implementation in The Centaurus in this regard. An inauguration ceremony was also conducted to declare The Centaurus Mall Tobacco-Smoke Free Facility.
