LAHORE - Parts of the country including Lahore received rainfall of varying intensities yesterday with experts predicting more rains during the next couple of days.

Overcast conditions, strong winds and scattered rains made weather pleasant by causing decrease in the temperature during the day and at nighttime.

In Lahore, strong winds started blowing in the afternoon that followed by scattered rains, decreasing the mercury level. The rains made the roads muddy along route of under construction Orange Line Metro Train, causing huge inconvenience to motorists and pedestrians. Massive traffic jam was witnessed along the entire route of Orange Line Metro Train.

According to the experts, westerly wave is prevailing over central parts of country. This weather system is likely to grip upper parts of the country today (Saturday) and will persist till Sunday.

Rain-thundershower accompanied by gusty winds is expected at scattered places in Punjab (Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore, Sargodha, Faisalabad, Multan, Sahiwal, Bahawalpur, D G Khan divisions), Islamabad, Khyber Pakhtunkhawa (Hazara, Mardan, Peshawar, Bannu, Kohat, D I Khan divisions), FATA and Kashmir and at isolated places in Quetta, Zhob, Sukkur, Larkana and Malakand divisions. Hailstorm is likely at isolated places during the period.

Barkhan received 21mm rain, Quetta 11mm, Kalat 06mm, Kakul and Zhob 05mm each, Bahawalpur and Parachinar 04mm each, Jaccobabad, Noorpurthal, Khanpur, Garidupatta, Dadu and Sibbi 03mm each, Jhang, Multan, D G Khan, Larkana, Nokkundi, Dalbandin and Layyah 02mm each, Bahawalnager, Rahim Yar Khan, Moenjodaro, Muzaffarabad, Kasur, Shaheed Benazirabad, Rohri and Sukkur 01mm each.
