Security in provincial capital beefed up in wake of Peshawar blast

LAHORE   -   Security in the provincial metropolis was beefed up on Friday as Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Fayyaz Ahmad Dev had issued directions to DIG and SSP Operations Lahore and all the divisional SSPs to ensure foolproof security arrangements in the city. He ordered them to ensure foolproof at mosques, Imambargahs, markets, business centres, sensitive installations, and religious and public places in wake of the current situation in the country.


Senior officers of Lahore police visited different areas of the city including mosques and religious places to check the security arrangements. All the SSPs, SDPOs and officers concerned also reviewed and ensured tight security arrangements throughput the city particularly at mosques and other religious places.


Police officers and officials along with members of the Dolphin Squad and Police Response Unit remained alert and patrolled around sensitive mosques and Imambargahs.
