LAHORE - National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has arrested former president Bank of Punjab Hamesh Khan, its General Manager and another official on Sunday, a source disclosed. According to the source, the officials of the Bank of Punjab were arrested for their alleged involvement in a fraud case detected by the Bureau. Monitoring Desk adds: The NAB picked up these officials in connection with a Rs 13 billion fraud case, reports a private TV channel. Former president Bank of Punjab Hamesh Khan, general managers Rauf Aziz and Aziz Hameed have been arrested. After launching an inquiry three months ago, the State Bank of Pakistan had referred the case to NAB. A thorough inquiry of three months into the case led the NAB authorities to arrest former officials of BoP, the channel added. More arrests in this connection are likely to take place.
