RAWALPINDI - Executive District officer (EDO) Municipal Services, Imtiaz Ahmed Malik, Friday issued show cause notices to chief sanitary inspector and 10 other sanitary workers on account of negligence and poor performance during cleanliness campaign in the city.

The EDO Municipal Services also said that no one would be spared who so ever showed negligence in his work and those who performed excellent would be encouraged and appreciated by the department. Imtiaz Ahmed expressed these views during his visit to various areas of the city to review the condition of cleanliness and pace of work during ongoing cleanliness driver.

He directed District Officer Solid Waste Management Dr Mazhar Azeem to ensure cleanliness in all the small and main streets of every union council. He lauded the work of municipal staff and encouraging them further directed to work with same spirit.

A show cause notice has been issued to Chief Sanitary Inspector Faqeer Javed for not ensuring complete cleanliness in sector B of Union Council 44 whereas notices under PEEDA Act were also given to 10 sanitary workers who were found absent from duty.

It is pertinent to mention here that one supervisor and 12 sanitary workers have been shown the door by EDO for not performing well during the cleanliness drive. Showcause notices were also issued to sanitary supervisors during cleanliness campaign in Dhoke Mangtal Union council No 4, Union council No 26 and 27, Sadiqabad on account of their poor performance.

The objective of above mentioned action against the municipal services staff was to ensure cleanliness in the city and make the cleanliness campaign a real success, stated EDO Municipal Services Imtiaz Ahmed Malik.
