ISLAMABAD – The Ministry of National Food Security and Research on Friday has issued the directives to Pakistan Agriculture Research Council (PARC) for reinstating 269 terminated employees as Prime Minister has approved their reinstatement.

The said employees were terminated on May 21, 2011 on the allegation that they were not appointed following the rules and regulations by the then Chairman PARC Dr Zafar Altaf. There were allegations that many of them did not fulfil the qualification and experience criteria that later was proved wrong in the court of law as well. The employees had also filed an application to PM for this unjustified termination done by PARC’s new chairman on the willingness of then Minister for Agriculture Nazar Mohammad Gondal.

Now all those employees are ordered to be reinstated and Ministry in its orders has written, “PARC is requested that the orders of Prime Minister may please be implemented immediately and a compliance report in this regard may be submitter to this Ministry accordingly”.

Reliable sources in the Pakistan Agriculture Research Council told that the major reason behind the termination of these employees was believed annoyance of Nazar Gondal from Dr Zafar Altaf as he refused to accommodate the people mentioned in the Minister’s provided list to him.

But they said that if there were any strength in the allegation put on the employees and Dr Zafar, these employees would never had been reinstated. All this inconvenience just happened due to rift of Gondal with the then Chairman Zafar Altaf.

The sources also said that the employees would be reinstated from the date of their termination that means they will be entitled to receive their dues from the department.
