LAHORE – The three-day Live International Interventional Cardiology Workshop organised by Army Cardiac Centre Lahore continued with its second session on Friday.

The main highlights of the session were based on live didactic presentations from internationally renowned heart surgeon Dr Run–Lin Gao from Beijing, China, Dr Antonio  Colombo from Milan, Italy and Dr Roxana Mehran from New York, USA.  A wide spectrum of complex angioplasty cases and stent procedures were chosen for live operations and demonstrations via satellite to generate interactive discussions among the national and international experts participating in the workshop for mutual learning and experience. The didactic presentations were arranged exclusively for cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, fellows, trainees, nurses and technicians to become familiar with the latest trends in management of acute coronary syndrome and basic techniques of percutaneous coronary interventions.

 Before the commencement of today’s session, Brigadier Afsar Raza Commandant Army Cardiac Centre, who is also the convener and course – director, dilated on the aim of presentations. He said that main focus of the session is to impart practical training of latest techniques and devices used in angioplasty and stent procedures for the benefit of attendees.
