LAHORE - Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that loadshedding, poverty and unemployment have made life of the people miserable so much so that it has become difficult for them to keep their body and soul together. He said that democracy is the name of service to the masses but the rulers sitting in Islamabad have made it a source of loot and plunder. He said that corruption of the rulers during the last four years has reached its peak. He said that time has come to rid the country of corrupt rulers and purge it of corruption. He said that every patriotic person will have to play his due role for the survival and security of the country. He said that the nation would hold Ali Baba and Forty Thieves accountable and recover looted money from them.

He was addressing the assembly members, officebearers and workers of PML-N belonging to Gujranwala, here Friday. Special Assistant Zaeem Hussain Qadri was also present on the occasion.

The CM said that federal government has not only undermined democracy but also ruined the national institutions like railways and PIA through plundering and these institutions are failing to provide services to the people. He said that Karachi, the city of lights, is burning, Balochistan is facing insurgency and KPK is facing terrorism whereas loss to the economy of Punjab is being caused through long loadshedding of electricity. He said that rulers have no concern with the problems of the people and country’s situation and are engaged in plundering of national exchequer.

He said that Pakistan was achieved after numerous sacrifices but it was disintegrated only after 25 years but no lesson has been learnt from this tragedy.

 He said that billions of rupees were looted in the name of rental power, dacoities were committed on Hujaj, NICL and banks, loans worth billion of rupees were written off on political grounds but no one cares for it. He said that time has come that the situation of the country should be improved and if we did not work hard and playe our role, the coming generations will never forgive us. The Chief Minister said that the enemies in and outside the country are destabilising Pakistan. He said that we have to come out for strengthening the country and changing the situation. He said that Punjab government took the historic decision of renouncing the aid of ‘aghiyar’ a year ago while on the other hand federal government caused loss to the economy of the province through step-motherly attitude in the loadshedding of electricity and gas. He said that despite it, public service projects like yellow cab scheme, Aashiyana, education fund, distribution of laptop and free houses among the industrial workers are being implemented successfully and a network of the projects of infrastructure is being laid in the province. He said that culture of transparency has been promoted in the province and the worst opponents cannot point finger to the transparency of our development projects.
