Efforts against polio stressed

PESHAWAR - Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Minister for Religious Affairs, Nimroze Khan has said the Islamic laws stress on the development of a healthy society, so they should take part in every effort to eradicate polio from the country. Its obligatory for parents to take every step to defend their children from fatal diseases. Highlighting the role of Ulema in eradication of polio, the minister stated that Ulema should promote and support the anti polio campaign for making the country polio free.He was addressing a function organized by the National Research and Development Foundation Peshawar. in collaboration with the UNICEF and Health Department Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Dr. Muhammad Rafique and Dr. Bilal Ahmad from UNICEF and Dr. Raheem Khattak and Behramand Khan, EPI Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Qari Roohullah Madani Provincial Khateeb were also present on the event.The Minister further said that he fully supports the polio immunization campaign and appeal to parents to cooperate with the vaccination teams and get their children vaccinated. He appreciated the efforts of government and other organizations creating awareness on eradicating polio from our country. At the end, the Minister administered polio drops to children and prayed for the well being of children and the nation and especially success of the efforts being carried out for making the country free from polio.
