SWAT - Masses kept on protesting against police for torturing a lawyer at Khwaza Khela, when the latter allegedly tortured BISE Swat officials on Friday.

Sources said the row between police and board officials erupted over car parking, adding that police got angry with the officials and attacked the BISE Swat office. They said the police ransacked the board office and harassed the staffers on duty. Moreover, the police even did not hesitate to destroy the question papers in the Board Secrecy Section intended for the ongoing intermediate examinations, they added.

When contacted, police had a different version of the incident. According to the police, they reached the office after they received reports of that one of their fellow police officials was illegally detained inside the board building.

The board staffers said that after an exchange of harsh words between the police and them over parking a car, the SHO of Rahimabad broke into the building and tortured them. The police also sealed the building, they said.

However, after successful negotiation between the DSP Headquarters and the board chairman, both the parties reconciled amicably and as a result no FIR was lodged. The board staffers were not happy with the reconciliation and protested against the chairman.

Zia-ud-Din Yousafzai along with his other fellows Ahmed Shah and Zafar Shalmani said that police do very shameful act after the whole drama, police given threats to the Board Staff that Police will open FIR Case against the board officials. Zia demanded of Inspector General of Police, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, that he must take action against SHO Rahimabad Police Station Hanif Khan and give him punishment under the law.
