Ceasefire top priority: Prof.Ibrahim

Peshawar- Professor Ibrahim, member of Taliban negotiation committee, has said Taliban should not become impediment on the way to permanent peace in Pakistan.
“If the government demands for permanent peace in the country during direct talks with Taliban, I will side with government. I will persuade the Taliban Shoora to enter into a treaty on permanent peace with government,” he said this while talking to a private TV channel today. He went on to say that no venue for holding second round of direct talks between the government and Taliban Shoora could be decided. ‘I am continuing consultations with government committee and Taliban Shoora in this respect,” he added. It is hoped that they would soon agree on the venue for peace talks and the members of both the committees will head towards the set venue within three to four days, he said. He was of the view that interior minister meeting with the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is their internal matter. “We will continue to strive for making the negotiations a success. Ceasefire between the both sides is our top priority, “he said.
