ISLAMABAD - The newly appointed senior superintendent of Islamabad Capital Territory Police has advised his officers to seek cooperation from society to ensure peace in the federal capital.
“All segments of society should be taken on board for effective policing and joint efforts be made for comprehensive security in the city and complete protection to the citizens,” SSP Muhammad Ali Naikokara directed his subordinates during the first meeting he held soon after taking charge of his office.
The SSP said teams should be constituted in police stations by maintaining close liaison with various segments. Naikokara directed to conduct refresher courses for police employees about the use of weapons. He said that crackdown should be launched against those having illegal weapons and mobile police pickets should be erected to curb criminal activities. He said that inspectors and sub-inspectors would ensure checking of these pickets to improve performance.
He said that SOP has been prepared for security of banks and moneychangers operating in the city and all zonal SPs, SDPOs and SHOs would conduct meetings with the administration of these outlets for implementation on various instructions. He said that administration of banks and moneychangers would be responsible for installation of CCTV cameras within their premises, entry points and parking areas. He said that police officials should properly check expertise and biodata of security guards.
