LAHORE - Joint effort of Jaweria Rauf and Kainat Imtiaz helped the PCB XI thrash State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) by 8 wickets in Departmental T20 Women's Cricket Championship 2018 match played at National Stadium, Karachi on Friday.

In the match two of the day three, PCB XI women proved too hot for State Bank women as first PCB XI’s bowlers destroyed State Bank’s batting line and then their batswomen easily chased the target to register a thumping win. State Bank, after opting to bat first, could score 116-9 in 20 overs with only Aliya Riaz (39*) and Ayesha Zafar (36) were the main contributors. Sania Khan bowled brilliantly and grabbed 4-28 while Kainat Imtiaz bagged 2-26. In reply, PCB XI achieved the required target for the loss of just 2 wickets in 18.3 overs. Jaweria Rauf hammered unbeaten 59 and Kainat Imtiaz made 42. Maham Tariq took 2-23. PCB XI’s Jaweria Rauf and Kainat Imtiaz were declared joint players of the match.

It is pertinent to mention here the PCB XI team has been performing exceptionally well despite the fact that neither it is a departmental team nor it is getting hefty amounts like the players of departmental team get, but even then they are performing up-to-the-mark, which clearly indicates the PCB’s aim of promoting and empowering women cricket.
