COAS emphasizes to strengthen Pak-Saudi ties

Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa, on Wednesday, emphasized to strengthen Pak-Saudi ties in order to promote mutual understanding between both the countries. 


According to Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa said this in a meeting with Saudi Chief of General Staff during a visit to Saudi Arabia. 

Moreover, the two military leaders discussed issues of mutual interest as well as the security situation in the region.

The meeting also discussed the progress of the Afghan peace process and the issue of further enhancing defense cooperation between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.

According to ISPR, the Chief of the Saudi Armed Forces expressed gratitude to General Qamar Bajwa for his sentiments and assured him of full cooperation for peace in the region.

Following the visit of COAS, Prime Minister Imran Khan will also leave for Saudi Arabia this week. Special Representative of the PM on Interfaith Harmony and Middle East Tahir Mahmood Ashrafi has said that PM Imran Khan would leave for Saudi Arabia on May 7 (Friday) on the invitation of Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia Muhammad bin Salman.

In a media briefing, before his departure to Saudi Arabia, Tahir Ashrafi said the PM would meet Muhammad bin Salman, Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, (OIC), Imams of the two Holy Mosques, religious and political leadership of Saudi Arabia and Pakistanis during his visit.
