Prime Minister has extended one years time period for Rs 500 rupee note, thus accepting the plea of various stakeholders and poor people living in far flung areas of the country where information reaches very slowly. Indeed, it is a welcome move that would solve the problems of people having Rs 500 currency notes. Measures must be taken to educate the public about change of currency note through media, schools, post offices so that the information trickles down to the lower segments of society which do not have access to electronic and print media. One day they wake up and find that their money has been demonetized. It is hoped that hereafter sudden change of currency notes will be avoided. Thanks to government for listening to the requests of public and acting according to the desires of public. IFTIKHAR MIRZA, Islamabad, November 1.
