HAFIZABAD - The District Development Committee (DDC), at its meeting chaired by the DCO held here on Friday, approved 26 development schemes. As per detail, the schemes include renovation of two roads under the sugar cess and up-gradation of three high schools to Model Secondary Schools. These schemes will cost Rs39.451 million. The schemes included provision of missing facilities to schools, pavement of streets and laying of drain system. The meeting chaired by DCO Muhammad Asif, was also attended by EDO Finance Khawar, DO Budget Riaz Chani Basit, EDO works Malik Mehrajul Islam and XEN Liaquat Ansari. PROFITEERS FINED: The District Price control committee (DPCC) reviewed the prevailing prices of commodities and re-fixed their retail prices. The committee also warned the shopkeepers to follow the officially fixed rates. The Special price Magistrates are also ordered to take stern action against the shopkeepers selling daily-use items higher than the fixed rates. The meeting was told that 170 profiteers and hoarders had been challaned and a total of Rs75,100 fine was imposed on them during the last month. Rs48m uplift being carried out: The TMA has been executing developmental projects worth Rs48.5 million in the Tehsil Municipal Administration's (TMA) 25 Union Councils under the Citizen Community Board. TMA Administrator Fakharul Islam Dogar stated this here on Friday. He said that 22 more uplift projects, worth Rs33.6 million were being initiated under the Annual Development Programme. TEACHERS' CREDENTIALS SOUGHT: District Education Officer ( Elementary) Tasneem Jilani has advised all the regular Primary School teachers (PSTs), having academic qualifications of FACT/ BA (Second Division) to submit their original certificates/degrees, Service Book and appointment letters in her office till November 10. The purpose of this act, she said, is to consider them for departmental promotion.
