QUETTA - A Judicial Magistrate in Quetta issued arrest warrants of Jam Muhammad Yousuf, former Chief Minister of Balochistan in murder case of Nawab Muhammad Akbar Khan Bugti. Jam Muhammad Yousuf was nominated in the FIR which was lodged in Dera Bugti under the orders of the Balochistan High Court on request of Nawabzada Jamil Akbar Bugti. The investigation team which is conducting probe into this high profile murder case had approached the court of Judicial Magistrate VI Quetta, comprising Faisal Hameed for issuance of arrest warrants of Jam Muhammad Yousuf. Accepting the request, the Judicial Magistrate issued the arrest warrants of former Chief Minister. Nawabzada Jamil Akbar Bugti, eldest son of Nawab Akbar Bugti had nominated six personalities of previous govt including former President Pervez Musharraf, Shaukat Aziz, Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao, Owais Ahmad Ghani, Jam Muhammad Yousuf and Shoaib Nosherwani as accused in the FIR. The Crime Branch had earlier obtained arrest warrants of Pervez Musharraf, Shaukat Aziz and former Home Minister and sitting member of the Provincial Assembly Shoaib Ahmed Nosherwani. However, despite the issuance of arrest warrants, no arrest has been made so far. The team has also recorded statements of Owais Ahmad Ghani and Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao and filed them in Balochistan High Court. Former Interior Minister Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao and former Governor Balochistan Owais Ahmad Ghani through their written statements had assured the investigation team for extending cooperation in investigations. The Balochistan govt had earlier requested the Federal govt to extradite Pervez Musharraf and other accused who are out of country, but the Federal government had asked for their arrest warrants which were required under extradition treaties with different countries. The arrest warrants of Pervez Musharraf and Shaukat Aziz have been sent to the Federal Interior Ministry for initiating process of extradition against them while arrest warrants of Jam Yousuf will be sent within next few days.
