N to put Mush on trial: Nisar

ISLAMABAD (INP) - Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has said that after coming into power, the PML-N would hold trial of former President Pervez Musharraf for dismissing an elected government and his other unconstitutional acts. In an interview with a private TV channel, Chaudhry Nisar warned that the country would not remain as it is today if the Army intervened in the future. He said he was strongly opposed to those Generals who subverted the Constitution to rule the country. Chaudhry Nisar said Mian Nawaz Sharif consulted him (Nisar) and other party leaders before appointing General Musharraf as the then Army chief. He said the actions of Musharraf have affected the image of the Army. He said after the dismissal of Nawaz Sharif government, he had made it abundantly clear to the Army that he would neither leave Nawaz Sharif nor join the Q-League led government. Replying to a question, he said it is not in the interest of the country to allow the present government to remain in power any more. He defended the Punjab Chief Minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif and said he was running the provincial administration in a transparent manner and no case of corruption has come to surface in Punjab. He said there appears to be no deal between Dr Zulfikar Mirza and President Asif Ali Zardari. Dr Mirza invited Mian Nawaz Sharif to visit Badin, he pointed out. He said PML-N offices in Karachi were ransacked by associates of President Zardari. He said the PML-N is not opposed to MQM. He said Urdu speaking people have given tremendous sacrifices in the creation of Pakistan. However, he said a particular group has hijacked the Urdu speaking people.
