SARGODHA - it is highly necessary for any institution to adopt the policy of self-reliance to live a dignified and honourable life. This is why the University of Sargodha is striving to prepare itself and finalise such programmes on the significance of self-sufficiency. University of Sargodha (UoS) Vice Chancellor Dr Muhammad Akam Chaudhry stated this while speaking at the inaugural ceremony of newly-built labs at University College of Agriculture. Describing the environmental condition of Sargodha and its suburban areas, the UoG VC expressed that kinnoo of this area was worldwide famous and well known for its taste. He, however, lamented that since the past sometime this important crop had been deteriorated due to farming disease. For this very reason the UoG University College of Agriculture has to take the responsibility to promote the cultivation of the important crop by eliminating disease as per the country's requirement, he added. The VC further said that the UCA in its age and limitations was a newly established institute but it had proved its role exactly for six years. It has laid the stone of instance. The agricultural scientists of this college have presented and got published 41 research papers in international journals" he said. Dr Ch pointed out that the UoG was a new born institution which was yet to facing some problems of shortage of Hostel accommodations for its students. To resolve this acute issue, the construction of new hostels has been planned in the upcoming years. Diagnostic labs and medical centres have facilitated the people of Sargodha. This step has also increased the source of income of UoS," the VC said. He further said that the destiny of Pakistan depended on teachers and students of the varsities. These real intellectuals and dynamic people can bring Pakistan out from grass root level to upward," said Dr Akram Ch. Before his address, the VC inaugurated the new constructed labs in UCA. He also planted a sapling in the Academic Block.
