Pakistan Army gifts relief stocks for Sri Lankan landslide victims

RAWALPINDI- Pakistan Army has donated special consignment of relief medical supplies and emergency goods for Koslandawatta Meeriyabedda land slide victims.

The relief goods were handed over to the Sri Lanka Army at Katunayaka Bandaranayake International Airport on Tuesday afternoon.

Army Chief General Raheel Sharif, COAS had spoken to Sri Lankan Army Chief, Lt Gen DayaRatnayake on phone and had made this offer.  
It may be recalled that last week 100 people died in devastating mudslide inBudhala, Sri Lanka.

A team of 18 officers from the Pakistan Army, led by the High Commissionerof Pakistan in Sri Lanka, Major General (R) Qasim Qureshi, handed over relief stocks containing, 10 generators, shelters, 150 tents, 0.7 Tones of medicine, to the Sri Lanka Army Deputy Chief of Staff, Major General E.M.MAmbanpola who was present at the air port on behalf of the Commander of theArmy.

The Pakistan team with technicians and other tradesmen would assist the Sri Lanka Army by providing technical support for their installation, etc. Another consignment of relief aids will also be dispatched from Pakistan soon.
