Mishap leaves 1 dead, 17 critically hurt

SIALKOT
One person was killed and 17 others were injured seriously in fatal collision between a passenger bus and a Toyota van near village Gunnah-Sialkot on main Sialkot-Pasrur Road early Wednesday morning.
The Toyota van (AJK-430) was coming to Sialkot from Pasrur when the speeding passenger bus (LES-6035) hit the van from the opposite direction killing Chawinda-based Munawar (50) and injuring 17 other van passengers seriously.
Rescue 1122 Sialkot officials shifted the injured to Govt Trauma Center Sialkot, due to their critical condition. They said that the arms and legs of almost all of these injured were badly fractured, as the condition of Chawinda-Pasrur based Fiaz, Arsalan Ikram, his father Muhammad Ikram, Sultan and Imran was critical due to their severe head injuries.
DSP (Traffic) Waseem Akhtar said that the van was badly damaged and crushed in the collision, as the Rescue 1122 officials pulled out the injured by cutting the wreckage of the ill-fated van. Police have registered a case and started investigation, with no arrest, in this regard.
TAILOR ARRESTED: Cantt police have arrested accused Suhail Afzal for manufacturing and selling the Pak Army uniforms, badges, ranks and other related articles illegally at his workshop in Bhoth locality. Police have sent the accused behind bars after registering a case.
