LAHORE - Punjab Chief Minister yesterday visited Sharif Medical Complex and inquired after people injured in the building collapse in Sundhar Industrial Estate.
The chief minister ordered the hospital management to provide best free of charge treatment to the injured. The chief minister also prayed for their early recovery.
Shahbaz Sharif expressed deep sense of sorrow and grief over the death occurred in the incident and prayed may Allah Almighty rest the departed soul in peace and grant strength to the bereaved families to bear this loss.
After the incident, Shahbaz Sharif cancelled his visit to a meeting held at the residence of former MPA Hafiz Mian Nauman in connection with the victory of the PML-N in the local governments’ elections.
The elected Chairmen, Vice Chairmen and Councilors of NA-122 were invited to the meeting which was also attended by MNA-elect from the same constituency in by-polls on October 11, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, City President of the Party, Pervez Malik and others.
The chief minister was due to attend the gathering not only to felicitate the elected candidates of the party but also share views on the future set up at the upper level of the body in the city.
Earlier, Senator Saleem Zia called on Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, yesterday, and congratulated him on the victory of the PML-N in local bodies’ elections.
On the occasion, the chief minister said that selfless service to the masses is the pivot of politics of the PML-N and victory in local bodies’ elections is the result of hard work, honesty and transparency.
He said that the people through ensuring success of the PML-N have proved that they want continuity of policies of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. He said that greater efforts would be made during next two and half years for the service of the people.
