Lahore - Barry’s booked berth in the main final of the Fresher Juice Polo Cup 2016 while Learning Alliance qualified for subsidiary final.
On the fourth day of the tournament, six matches were conducted in two phases here at the Lahore Polo Club (LPC) ground on Friday. The first phase saw losing teams of the league round in Pool B clashing against each other and it was Learning Alliance team, which won both of its matches to qualify for the subsidiary final. First they defeated Dascon Construction by 4-2 and then outpaced Black Horse Paints by 6-1 to make their way in the subsidiary final. In the third match of this phase, Dascon Construction edged out Black Horse Paints 5-3½.
In the second phase where the winning teams of league rounds in Pool B played against each other to qualify for the main final, the situation was very interesting as all the teams won and lost one match each but better goal average helped Barry’s qualify for the main final. In the first match of the second phase, Diamond Paints beat Barry’s by 3-2. Then Barry’s bounced back and outlasted Pebble Breakers by 3-1 while in the third and final match of the second phase, Pebble Breakers outclassed Diamond Paints by 3-0.
