LAHORE - The University of Health Sciences (UHS) announced the result of First Professional MBBS Part-I annual examination yesterday.

A total of 5,584 candidates from 38 affiliated medical colleges appeared in the exam out of which 4557 passed and 917 failed. Result of 110 candidates was put on later-on list. The pass percentage remained 83.25 per cent.

Hiba Tehrim of Lahore Medical and Dental College got first position securing 533/600 marks, followed by Hira Amin of the same college, and Namal of Faisalabad University Medical and Dental College with 522/600 and 521/600 marks respectively.  Supplementary exams will commence on December 20, 2016.


A delegation from Malaysia visited the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) Lahore and called on Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Talat Naseer Pasha at the City Campus Lahore.

The delegation comprising Dr Ali Akkbar Bin Munshi, Dr Samuil Bin Mopun, Dr Ainol and Ustazah Shamsiah and sought collaboration with the UVAS and other agriculture universities in Pakistan. The delegation lauded the academic achievements of UVAS and the level of engagement with the commercial sector in development of new methodologies and scientific approaches for development of livestock sector.

The Vice-Chancellor briefed the delegation on the UVAS academic, research, extension services and training programmes.
