World Habitat Day is observed each year worldwide on October 7, to work for adequate shelter around the world through some advantages activities and highlighting the requirement of a safe, civilised and inexpensive shelter for the common masses. It is estimated that 1.6 billion people live in standard houses, but around a 100 million people are homeless. This day has many aims including paying attention to the needs of homeless people and providing adequate housing everywhere, to bring beneficial things for them and increase awareness worldwide to adjoin responsibility for the future generations and their habitat. It was discussed in 1985 then celebrated in the year 1986. Today several countries including Pakistan, the USA, UAE, Germany, Japan, Italy and others countries celebrate this day to ensure sufficient shelter, water, sanitation, good education, health, job prospect and other basic facilities of the people.
