SHIKARPUR - A father of three kids was shot dead by his close relatives allegedly over developing illicit relations here at village Ali Nawaz Khan Loond, in the limits of Jahan Waah Police Station, late Friday night. Sher Muhammad Jaffari, the Station House Officer (SHO), told this scribe that Abid Ali, 27, son of Muhammad Sharif Loond, was gunned down by his maternal uncles and a cousin over developing illicit relations. The assailants, however, fled from the spot after committing the crime.

“After receiving information, police reached the spot and moved the body to Rural Health Centre Sultankot for autopsy and later handed it over to his family,” the SHO added.

Police have registered an FIR against the accused, Murtaza[cousin], son of Ghazi, Ghazi and Azam, (both maternal uncles), on behalf of the state.

However, mystery surrounds identity of the woman with whom the deceased allegedly developed illicit relations

Police are yet to arrest the accused.

Stolen solar plates, ceiling fans recovered

 Three solar plates and the same number of ceiling fans, which had been stolen from Primary School Marri Sharif a few days back, were recovered by Marri police after hectic efforts on Saturday.

Persons, who had stolen these items, were also taken into custody. Later the items were handed to Idara-e-Taleem-o-Aagahi [ITA] at its district office.

Speaking on the occasion, Zahid Bhanbhro, the ITA Shikarpur representative, expressed his satisfaction over the recovery of items and praised the efforts of Marri Police Station SHO Ghulam Abbas Gopang.

The SHO told the reporters that he was stunned when he heard the news. “Probe was initiated into the incident and all the stolen items were recovered,” he said.

Woman killed, 13 injured in separate road accidents

An aged woman, identified as Sarwar, by caste Shar, was killed while nine other passengers suffered grave wounds in a collision between Qinqchi and motorcycle on Rustam Road here on Saturday.

As per reports, Qingqchi was coming from village Khabar Shar and was heading to Shikarpur while the motorcycle was heading in the opposite direction.

Due to the collision, one woman died on the spot while nine others, Imtiaz Ali, Sahib Khatoon, Waziran, Ali Jaan, Ali Dost, Ali Gohar and others were injured.

Similarly, in another incident two motorcyclists collided with each other head-on. Consequently Saqlain Mangi, Mujahid Langah, Sadiq and Faheem Bhutto were injured.

Area police shifted the injured to Civil Hospital Shikarpur and handed over body of the deceased woman to her heirs after conducting postmortem examination.

Further investigation into the incidents is underway.
