BUNER - A woman, with support of her spouse, tortured her stepson to death in Tor Warsak area of Buner district on Saturday.
Jan Afsar, uncle of the deceased child, told the police while registering first investigation report (FIR) in Police Station Daggar that his sister-in-law and his brother had severely tortured his nephew and later excused that he had fallen from a wall. He said that his nephew died due to severe torture of his stepmother over a petty issue. He said that it was not the first incident and several times in the past the child had been subjected to torture by his father and the step mother. He was first shifted to District Headquarter (DHQ) Hospital, Daggar, where the doctors referred him to Peshawar where he breathed his last. The dead body had visible signs of torture, revealed the post-mortem report.
His uncle added that after the death of his real mother, Abdullah was living with his grandmother and after the death of the grandmother; he was handed over to me for caretaking. However, he was not present in the house when the step mother and his father subjected him to severe torture, he said.
The police inspector at Daggar Police Station Hussain Zada told journalists that they had registered an FIR against the step-mother of the child and had started further investigation.
