ISLAMABAD (Online)- The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has announced direct recruitment for 145 different vacancies in the Fire Brigade department for scales ranging from BPS-5 to BPS-18. According to sources, the interviews would be held from October 20 to November 21 according to schedule and no tests would be held for 139 permanent and 6 contract posts in the Fire Brigade department. The vacancies to be filled include 54 Firemen, 25 Leading Firemen, 8 Fire Control Supervisors, 35 Wireless Operators and several other vacancies. Provincial and regional quota given to only four difference vacancies while Rs. 50,000 has been fixed for all 6 vacancies to be filled on contract basis.  The direct recruitment has created anxiety in different circles and sources disclosed that the recruitment without holding tests minimized the chances of filling the posts on merit. According to sources, CDA provided training to 200 untrained firemen in the past.  Sources further told that the civic body decided to make recruitment in Fire Brigade Department over poor performance of Fire Brigade Service in tackling the situation emerged after deadly Marriott bomb blast. Tenders for Parliament House renovation  sought The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has sought tenders from the approved contractors of the civic body for the renovation of the Parliament House. The tenders worth of non-refundable Rs. 1000 can be submitted upto October 25 and all the tenders would be opened on the same date. The Sanitation Department of CDA would execute the renovation work. The renovation work includes repair of floor of galleries of 2nd Floor of the Parliament House, improving the condition of Washrooms located in front of the Cafeteria and near the office of the Deputy Speaker, replacement of broken windowpanes, provision of Rodent Control Service in the Parliament House and other renovation work. CDA to construct Club House at Super Market The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has decided to construct Club House at Super Market in Sector F-6 Markaz with the total cost of Rs. 10 million on the area of 5,000 Square Yard. Deputy DG Works CDA, Sanaullah Aman informed that the construction of Club House would be started from October 15 and the construction work would be completed within one month and it would be linked with Multipurpose Ground. He further informed that the facilities of exercise would be provided for men and women in the Club House while changing rooms would also be constructed. All the latest exercise machines would be available at the Club House, he added. He said that the Club House would have a restaurant while Cadre Play Area would also be constructed for children.
