ISLAMABAD - The ongoing confrontation between the Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) and the five national sports federations regarding the quitting of the offices is likely to end on Monday (tomorrow), as the issue has been settled between the high ups of the both sides. A source close to PSB told The Nation here Saturday that the PSB had been asking to five national sports federations to shit their offices from the premises of the Pakistan Sports Complex for last two months. The PSB also served notices to Pakistan Volleyball Federation (PVF), Pakistan Kabaddi Federation (PKF), Athletics Federation of Pakistan (AFP), Rowing Federation of Pakistan (RFP) and Alpine Club of Pakistan (ACP) to vacate the rooms of Pakistan Sports Complex and also cut off the electricity, gas and water connections of the five sports federations, which are not vacating their offices from the on Monday. The Sports Board had served the notices to the PVF, PKF, AFP, RFP and ACP last August to shift their offices as soon as possible. However, the volleyball federation kept occupying the office at Laiquat Gymnasium while rests of the four federations, rowing, kabaddi, alpine club and athletics, stayed in the premises of Jinnah Stadium for last many years. The federations did not follow the instructions of the PSB by saying that they were paying to the PSB. Therefore, on last Monday, the PSB disconnected the electricity, gas and water connections. Source further said that the high ups of the federations contacted Director General PSB Ameer Hamza Gilani and assured them to accommodate them in the premises of the Sports Complex but they have to vacate their present offices.
