ISLAMABAD: The appointment procedure of Chairman Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) has been challenged in Islamabad High Court (IHC) today.

Applicant Shahid Aurazi has field the application in this regard. In his application, he argued that government wants to appoint its puppet Chairman PEMRA and for this purpose several changes have been made in the appointment procedure of the Chairman.

It further stated that qualification has also been reduced from post-graduate to graduate level. The applicant pleaded to the court to order federal government to restart the appointment procedure of Chairman PEMRA. The secretary information was made party in application.
