LAHORE - A five-day music festival of the All Pakistan Music Conference will be held here at Open Air Theatre Bagh-i-Jinnah from October 6 (Tuesday).

APMC General Secretary Prof Ghazala Irfan said on Sunday that first day students of different schools, colleges and universities will perform and obtain certificates, medals and trophy.

Artistes belong to renowned music families of the country will perform on the second day while on the third day, artistes will perform folk and light classical music.

Senior artists will perform classical music on the 4th day while the last day, prize distribution ceremony will be held and artistes will perform folk, light classical and classical music.

Masood Rana’s death anniversary observed: The 20th death anniversary of famous play-back singer Masood Rana was observed here on Sunday.

A ceremony was held at Samanabad in which artistes and people from various walks of life participated and hailed services of Masood Rana.

Masood Rana sung songs in a large number of films in his melodious voice. He started his career in 1955 and sung first song for a Pakistani film in 1962.
