Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Wednesday said Pakistan wants to resolve all outstanding issues with India through composite dialogue, Radio Pakistan reported.
He was addressing a joint session of parliament in Islamabad to discuss human rights violations in Indian-held Kashmir and to show solidarity with Kashmiris.
The prime minister said Pakistan is a responsible state but its desire of peace should not be considered as its weakness.
“Our armed forces are capable to thwart any foreign aggression effectively and whole nation stands by the armed forces for the defence of country,” said Nawaz.
The prime minister said that the joint session was summoned to discuss the atrocities committed by Indian troops against Kashmiris in the disputed Himalayan region.
Nawaz Sharif said that UN resolutions on Kashmir are still on the agenda of Security Council and international community should take immediate steps for implementation of these resolutions.
The prime minister said that Indian forces cannot suppress the struggle of Kashmiris for their right to self-determination.
Nawaz Sharif said Pakistan has a firm commitment to continue its support to Kashmiris for their legitimate struggle.
