HAFIZABAD  -  The provision of interest-free loan and modern agriculture technology will be ensured to maximise food production and improve socio-economic conditions of the cultivators, Director General Agriculture (extension) Punjab Syed Zafar Yaab Haider said.

He was addressing the peasants and officials of the agriculture department, which was also addressed by Director Agriculture Gujranwala Division Dr. Javed Akhtar Pedhihar, Director Research Shabbir Afzal Warraich and Deputy Director Agriculture Javed Iqbal, at Channi Wazeera on the occasion of observing Mega Farmer Day.

He said that the cultivators should avail the facilities being provided by the Punjab Government to increase the food output and to better their financial conditions.

He said that the officials of the department would provide all sorts of guidance to them for maximizing food production.

The district police launched special crackdown on criminals in Kassoki, Jalalpur Bhattain, Pindi Bhattian, Vanike Tarar and Hafizabad city and during search operation arrested 12 outlaws and have recovered 3500 gram chars, 63 litre liquor, 2 pistols, 1 revolver and quantity of ammunition from their possession. The police have registered cases against them accordingly.

Special Task Force headed by Assistant Commissioner Hafizabad Faisal Abbas Mangat raided Winni and Seoke village and retrieved 42 kanal 18 marlas land worth Rs. 1,10,00,000/- which the influential landlords had unlawfully grabbed since long. The AC has also served upon them notices for the recovery of penalty.
