Balochistan’s uplift linked with promotion of higher education: Governor

QUETTA    -   Acting Governor of Balochistan Mir Jan M Jamali on Tuesday said that promotion of higher education would have positive effects and a path to the devel­opment and prosperity of the entire province. 

He was talking to a delega­tion of university students led by former Senator Nawabzada Haji Lashkari Raisani.

“In order to meet the chal­lenges of the modern era, it is necessary to adopt the educa­tion and training of the new gen­eration according to the ground realities with the contemporary requirements,” he added.

On this occasion, Acting Gov­ernor Balochistan said that the services of experts and re­searchers of higher educational institutions could be fruitful in formulating educational policies while dealing with the challeng­es of the ever-changing world. 

The delegation urged the acting governor of Balochistan to provide the students of the university campus in Kharan with the best educational envi­ronment and also provide hos­tel facilities so that they could continue their studies with full attention. On which, he assured his all possible support.

JAMALI VOWS TO ENSURE ATTENDANCE OF PROFESSORS, EMPLOYEES IN UOB

Balochistan Acting Governor Mir Jan M Jamali on Tuesday said that the government had to take bold decisions in the edu­cation sector for protection to the coming generations through provision of quality knowledge.

He made it clear in blunt words that all necessary steps would be taken to ensure the attendance of teachers and em­ployees in the University of Balo­chistan, no negligence would be tolerated and strict legal action will be taken against the viola­tors. He expressed these views while presiding over the 8th Senate meeting of the University of Balochistan (UoB).

On this occasion, Provin­cial Secretary Hafeez Jamali, SMIT member Abdul Saboor Kakar, Vice Chancellor Univer­sity of Balochistan Professor Dr Shafiqur Rehman and Prin­cipal Secretary to Governor Balochistan Abdul Nasir Dotani were present. Acting Governor Balochistan was given a brief­ing regarding the performance of the University of Balochistan and the future plan of action. The governor said that the Sen­ate was an honor as well as a responsibility. “All of us should sincerely support and cooperate in the efforts that the Vice Chan­cellor University of Balochistan Professor Dr Shafiqur Rehman was making to run the affairs of the university smoothly in dif­ficult circumstances,” he added.

He stressed on maintaining strong links between all public sector universities and ben­efiting from each other’s experi­ences. Despite, many important decisions were made as a result of the suggestions and recom­mendations of the participants of the eighth session of the Uni­versity of Balochistan (UoB).
