LAHORE - Defence-A police on Friday registered a theft case against film star Meera, her parents, her uncle, brother and brother-in-law on the complaint of her alleged husband. Faisalabad resident Attiqur Rehman in his application accused that he married with Meera on September 2, 2007. He said when he came from abroad on August 28 2009 and found his wife Meera and her family in his house and were busy in stealing his household items including furniture and valuables. He said when he tried to stop them they hurled him life threats made off with the looted items. Station House Officer (SHO) Defence-A police station Abid Rasheed has confirmed that an FIR has been registered under sections 380 and 506 against Meera, her parents, her uncle, her brother and five unidentified persons. He said the police were conducting raids but to no avail so far. Earlier, both the parties appeared before the ASP Defence who heard both of them and after conducting inquiry directed the police for registration of case. It may pertinent to mention here that Attiq claimed about Meera as his wife a few days back and shown the snaps of their wedding ceremony but Meera denied saying that Attiq was blackmailing her. Yesterday, a source disclosed that the police registered a case against Meera and her family members on the intervention of higher authorities as the police had refused to register a case against the accused saying to Attiq that it was his personal matter.
